Argonne Credit Union

Argonne Credit Union had a dilemma. They expanded their charter to expand  from  serving only their current member base of Argonne National Laboratory and Fermilab employees to members of the general public in the southwest and far west suburbs of Chicago. The only problem was that their marketing materials looked like they were straight out of the 80s and it was rare to find two pieces that had a consistent look, feel, or message to them.

The first thing Pure Imagination did for Argonne Credit Union was to develop an in depth marketing plan that covered positioning, branding, the competitive landscape, an internal and external identity transition strategy, direct marketing tactics and messaging direction, retail touch points and communications, media channel selection and scheduling, and outlines for various promotions targeting existing and new customers.

Upon completion of the marketing plan, Pure Imagination began the task of developing all the new marketing communications pieces including:

  • development of the new Argonne Credit Union corporate identity
  • a series advertising campaigns
  • outdoor advertising
  • door hanger and direct mail campaigns
  • redevelopment of the Argonne Credit Union website
  • collateral and display stands for various promotions
  • concept, planning, promotion and coordination of the ACU Grand Opening Ceremony

In the end, the efforts paid off handsomely as membership steadily grew and the various communities began to understand the clear benefits that Argonne Credit Union offers consumers over traditional banks.
