Springer Publishing Catalog Benefits from Database-Design Merge Technology

2017-10-01

Springer Publishing is a leading provider of books, journals and apps to health care professionals. When it was time for a catalog redesign, Springer reached out to PUREi to get the job done.

One of the first things PUREi recognized was that their catalog was a prime candidate for database-design merge technology. This technology allows you to create a catalog by merging pre-designed template layouts with a master database of product data and content.

Springer's catalog had over 500 products and over 70 pages. Traditional design and layout is time consuming and involves designing one page at a time from beginning to end, and reworking any additions changes or insertions as they come up in the process.

Alternatively, database-design merge methodology saves on average one third to one half the cost of traditional catalog design & layout. Plus, any changes and modifications are typically limited to simple database updates. Future catalog design efforts are even easier as only the templates get updated, saving even more on design costs down the line.

For Springer, the combination of getting a great catalog design at almost half the cost was a no brainer. PUREi completed the entire project in less than a month and half, which resulted in a very happy client.

{{portfolio code=project id=470}}
